Brittany McBryde is a Pittsburgh native currently working as a community organizer and activist. She serves on the board of several organizations within the city of Pittsburgh that consciously work to increase diversity and tolerance. After a few years as a mentor, she saw the need for a larger scale conversation about the depiction of minorities, specifically Black women and their effects- that’s when the idea for The Image of Black Women came to her. This is her first film, but just the beginning of many films and other community projects soon to come. It is her passion is to continue showcasing the beauty, strength, diversity, and love that is the Black woman.
